Life books

I read with BE and BC nearly every night before bed and they both cycle through their favorite books. Sometimes they become fascinated with a particular book and we have to read this book everyday – sometimes for weeks. Lately, BE has been requesting to read her Life Book.

BE and BC both have Life Books that they received from their foster care/adoption agency. Their foster family was thoughtful enough to fill out parts of them and to even include photos. And, I’ve tried to keep them current over the past few years. BE loves to read about what she was like when she first came into foster care at the age of three. BC is still too  young to appreciate his, but I think it will become more important as he gets older. I know I’m thankful that they each have a record of their stories and lives from before we knew them.
