More than a year ago, BE and I made a photo family tree. Both my family and J’s are rather large, and there are some members of our family that we don’t see that often. I wanted to make the family trees for BE (and eventually BC) to help them understand their new family and to figure out where they fit in. We hung up two posters in our living room, complete with names and photos. Actually, it’s really helped – both BE and BC can name many of the people in the photos (and this was even before BE could read). Here’s an idea of what they look like (I recolored the photo since it includes people’s photos and names).
This has been a useful tool for us – hopefully this suggestion can help someone else as well.
